It's probably only about a week in reality but it feels like horses days since I had a play day in my studio. In case you are wondering what horses days are, it's a phrase that has stuck with our family since my son Alex was about five or six. Instead of donkey's years, he would always say horse's days!!!!
Anyways, I have had a lovely, lovely day today playing around ......a little bit of stamping.......a little bit of painting and a lot of stitching!!! I decided I would have a day for me today instead of designing future classes......after all, I am supposed to be retired!!!!! I pulled out the fabric wall hanging thingy that I started recently and decided it would be really quite nice to finish it today. Some days things go well, some days they don't but today was a good day and I am really quite pleased with the results.
I did do a few close up shots just as the daylight was starting to fade so I hope they are not too dreary as the colours in this fabric really are lovely.
Righty ho, starting at the top....... a Wendy Vecchi heart stamped on fabric which I then bonded to some pelmet interfacing stuff ....sorry, I'm not familiar with all the real names yet. I painted it with Paperartsy Fresco Finish paint and added a few gold beads before zig zagging onto my mini quilt.......this is one of my favourite bits of the quilt.
A little phrase stamped on a scrap of fabric with Rangers Archival ink. The image is from one of the new Paperartsy Vintage plates ID03.....love all the images on this plate! Below that is one of the Ice Resin pieces I made a few weeks back. If you are thinking you recognise the images in this piece......you probably do. It was a bit of a cheat really and I have to thank Wendy Vecchi as I stole it from the packaging that came with one of her products.....it could have been one of her books. Anyways, it was full of mini pictures of her fabulous artwork and just the right size for my pendant thingy. Now just let me say, you can only do this kind of thing if it is for your own personal use....none of this seeing an idea and pretending it's your own artwork malarky.....that's a big no, no!!
Then I made some bunting from some gorgeous little B Line stamps, they came as a set with a few added extras like bows and flowers.
Please don't ask me where I got this key from......I have no idea.......it was a recent purchase......could have been Hobbycrafts.....could have been Colemas Craft Warehouse!!!! I do know that the little square tile in the background is Prima and that came from Colemans!!
So that was my day.....hope you day was just as much fun.
